renault master braking problem

hello everyone.

ive got an renault master 2.8td ex-ambulance thats been converted into a campervan. my problem is that after a short trip (i.e a couple of miles) the o/s/f caliper partly locks on and makes the brake over heat.if i stop for a short time the brake free's off untill i drive abit more. i know the ambulance sat around for some time before i got it. im looking for ideas before i sat taking it apart.
thank you.

Re: renault master braking problem

If it's partially sticking even when cold, you need to check if pads are sticking in the caliper and if the piston/s are free to move. Check any moving parts basically.

If it's all free, you might have fluid pressure in that brake pipe even with your foot of the brake.
Check the flexi pipe for crush damage especially where it runs through any mounting points.

I had a Transit that did similar and a tube bracket that holds the flexi to to strut had corroded inside and crushed the pipe. Fluid passed through under braking pressure but couldn't flow back causing brake to stick. The piston was almost impossible to push back unless the bleed nipple was opened due to the restriction.
