Re: Change Discs and Pads

I think I would, its only the 2 big carrier bolts on each caliper you need to do, jack up one side of the car and wind out both bolts a couple of turns, then wind out one of them completely, run a bit of threadlock down the length of the thread, dont go mad with it, put the bolt back in with a couple of turns left to be wound in, then do the same with the other one, finally tighten them both up with a torque wrench to 100 nm, then do the same to the other side.

Noticed you bought genuine Renault/ Brembo, nice one.

Hope that helps

Re: Change Discs and Pads

I got 4 bolts from the Renault Garage and they come with a thread locking compound on them. I decided to use new bolts as the old ones were slightly rounded off from taking them out the first time and I had to get them out again it would be better with good clean bolt heads to work with. It took only 40 mins to change all 4, including having to jack the car up twice!

A 3foot 1/2" breaker bar with a set of impact sockets makes short work of seized bolts on the brakes (and on wheel nuts/bolts.)
