Spring Puller

Hi all, Can anyone suggest a good spring removal tool for the replacement of brake shoes. Getting fed up with searching for springs that have ' flown ' across the garage narrowly missing eyes etc.

Re: Spring Puller

I have one similar to the attached picture.

If you are handy with a hack-saw and a file you can make your own from a piece of steel tube or old box spanner.

Re: Spring Puller

The above tool will help with the fixing springs,if you're talking about the springs between the shoes then there are pliers available for the job.Personally I use a pair of old, blunt side cutters. You can usually pre-fit all the springs and then fit the complete assembly to the back plate which makes things much easier though.Renault do sell pre-assembled kits at reasonable prices for their models.
