Re: Braided hoses

That makes sense. Any recommendation for decent pads? What do you guys use?

Re: Braided hoses

I have used APEC pads - in my experience they are good. There is no reason why you shouldn't go a slightly better quality such as Mintex or such but in my experience fitting uprated pads to already worn discs make very little noticable difference.

The effectiveness of brakes rests mainly with the components that generate the friction and disapate heat. I would suggest checking the condition of all pads, discs and calipers - especially that the caliper slider pins are nice and free.

Also check the thickness of the discs - badly worn discs lose their ability to disapate heat effiicently.

Re: Braided hoses

Back in the day, when I had my old Ford Cortina, I found the ford pads were a lot better than ferodo and brembo parts. I tend to stick with Pagid, Mintex or Brembo these days.
