Never had one with a electric set up mate, so can't help, sorry.

A clue is what the auxiliary belt powers, or not.

Re: power steering

If it has an electric power steering, take the steering cowling off . It normally holds with 2 screws. You should be able to see if there is a motor attached to the steering column.

Re: power steering

If the power steering has failed the steering would be really stiff. I think yours probably doesn't have power steering, pump the front tyres to the reccomended max pressure to make life easier.

Post Re: power steering

Hi there, I have a 2004 Kangoo, and it has a Electric power steering pump. It is located just behind the front bumper. I took it out, applied 12 volts and it worked. Then I found the 80 amp fuse in the engine bay which was gone. Replaced it. But I was brave and took the motor apart, and found all kinds of MUCK in it. Cleaned it all out, armature where the brushes sit was very dirty.... The challenge was to put the motor back together, since it is a sealed unit. I asked my welder friend to spot weld. Hooray !!! it works like a charm. BELIEVE ME IT IS NOT DIFFICULT IF YOU HAVE A MECHANIC FRIEND... Have a go.... Or you pay for another Pump ????
