Grand Scenic Rear Brakes

I recently replaced my rear discs and pads on my 2007 Grand scenic.

All was ok for a week or so, but now i am finding that at times when i put my foot on the brakes all will be fine and then suddenly the pedal will drop by about an inch, the brakes feel like they come off, and then the brakes re-apply and the car will carry on braking. The drop in the pedal sometimes feels like the ABS kicking in, but not always.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? I need my car for work, but wont drive it until i can sort this problem.
