Parking break error message

Hello all

I'm new to the forum so hello.
I'm having an issue with my 57 plate scenic 2. It is saying 'parking break fault' on the dash board. I have tested the operation and it is working both sides without fail. The rear pads are getting a little low but I wouldn't have thought this would effect it. I have tried the manual reset and this didn't clear the message. I have also plugged into an eobd reader and this has no error messages at all. Has any one got any other ideas as it is MOT time in a couple of weeks.

Re: Parking break error message

My scenic 1.4 did this when I tried to disengage the handbrake with a flat battery.

It took a while (few weeks) of manually applying and releasing the handbrake. Eventually it seemed to remember what was on and what was off.
