I had a set of front brake discs fitted on an opel tigra by a main dealer some 8+ years ago.
The dealer offered me the choice of genuine parts or generic ones.
The generic were £90 parts price, genuine like £150 (converted from euro)
I expected prices to be much higher now.
Just a fyi
I mentioned today in a couple of posts that I saw bosch meg III front discs (new, pair 280mm) advertised for £65.
I wasnt sure as Id lost the link, found it again, but they are out of stock atm. They werent when I first found the supplier. This is on a 60% off promotion till end of September, so I dont know if they will be back in by then.
The price was actually 66 euro and 44 cent,in UK terms thats around £55.
A single bosch rear disc is 92 euro (not with 60% off).
Maybe these prices arent great.. but just to confirm to myself I wasnt leading members astray .
For interest, I checked the price of a pair of front discs for a cls 55 amg. These(Ate) are 380mm in diameter, drilled and almost twice the thickness of the renault ones
£150 +£10 p+p for a pair.
I was expecting £200 + per disc.. maybe the renault ones arent such bargains after all.
