laguna 2 steering noise disappears in the wet

Hi all, further to my recent post about the steering noise on my mk2 laguna i am at a loss as to understand the whiring type noise that whilst stationary when tuning the steering wheel disappears after some rain as if it is lubricating something , the springs are fine i should add and am wondering what parts of the steering system could damp/wet reach to quieten things down as it is definitely doing just that ?
thanks in advance
