Rear Brake pads of a 51 plate Clio

I have a 51 plate Clio 1.2, with drum brakes on the rear.
The rear brakes are sounds rather rough, I was wondering how easy is it to replace the pads.
Would I need any special tools, etc.

Re: Rear Brake pads of a 51 plate Clio

You will have to get in there to know what you are up against. Once you let brakes get noisy then you may be down to rivets on shoes and have scoring on drums.

So it could be new shoes, or drums and shoes. Then you see a weepy brake cylinder and before you know it, you have brake overhaul.

Although it can be bad news, it is all to the good if it needs done. So , it is not the tools you need for a job, but the ones required for the possible findings.

As above.

Tools shouldn't be anything out of the ordinary, spanners,, screwdrivers, long nose pliers for springs and a half round file for cleaning the little raised rim on the outside edge of the drums

Do both sides of course
