grand scenic handbrake

Before you say cant be can and has been done, very nicely i might ad. After many attempts at making my grand scenic 2 electronic handbrake work and fail, i decided to av a go at a manual conversion. Out of a 04 plate scenic ( not grand ) i took the whole handbrake assembly out and almost fell over when they asked only twenty quid for the whole thing. took 2 hrs to remove and 1.5 hrs to fit but works. After having the lights and faults removed and unplugging both the handbrake blackbox and the pull handle, all is well...even passed the mot woohoooo. Job well done....hope you have the same success....any help in fitting in the kent area call spence on 07411018247 cheers

Re: grand scenic handbrake

well done!!!
Not being sarcastic just "gutted" you beat me to it.
I have just changed mine today (70 lever & new cables) to a manual handbrake but i'm missing the cable guides that fit just behind the handbrake i'm trying to source them now.
I have a couple of questions for you:-
1) How did you route your cables? was it in from underneath then sort of around the underfloor storage trays to the lever or have I missed some clips?(not much room fiddling under the carpets with the storage trays removed).
2) How did you get the stupid computer to ignore the auto handbrake and reset the faults ?
3) Do you not need an handbrake on warning lamp for the mot?
Hope I don't sound too stupid asking these but there isn't any info out there.
Thanks in advance Shane
