Had a similar issue with my daughters Clio.

It turned out to be the top part of the pads were binding on the underside of the caliper body due to corrosion building up over time.

I removed it with a hammer and small chisel and there have been no issues since.

If you remove the caliper body from the mounting bracket and turn it upside down you may be able to see a mark where the pads have been binding.

Its just had a new drive shaft on the passenger side because of cv joint was broke. Its going to get put on brake test machine tomorrow
