Re: Scenic 2 inner tie rod removal support

The plastic washer usually acts as a bump stop for full lock.
Better fitted than not.

If your tool is a 'made for it type' clamp, they sometimes grip ok even on a round surface.

By rights you should support the rack to stop it twisting but I doubt that many people do.
I've changed a few without problem.

Re: Scenic 2 inner tie rod removal support

I Brought this I had both to do on my espace and one on the scenic. the tool is well worth it the job was effortless with it. Would consider hiring it out to forum members but I would ask a deposit. Maybe the forum mods could set up a page for members to hire tools and diagnostics reading?????

If you like what someone's said, Thank them. If you find the solution to your problem post it and help others help them selves.

Re: Scenic 2 inner tie rod removal support

Depends on the car, but I find a pair of these sometimes works well

Providing you have enough room to get them in and use them lol I've got a tiny pair I use sometimes.

More force you apply the tighter it grips.. but if you are still worried... a bit of Loctite will help
