Re: Brake fluid Megane MK3

Thanks for the info guys.

madnoel10, you mention bleeding approx 1L per caliper would insure old fluid is fully out. Just wondering how much fluid the brake lines usually hold?

I had another idea to determine if old fluid is out. There is blue colour racing brake fluid. But its much more expensive.

So what I am thinking is as follows:

1. Add a little bit of the blue coloured brake fluid.
2. Then add the new normal brake fluid on top
3. Vacuum furthest caliper while someone keeps the reservoir topped up.
4. Keep vacuuming until I see a sign of blue fluid coming out.
5. Then after that wait until its fully clear and no sign of any blue fluid.
6. I am assuming this will mean that from the master cylinder to the furthest caliper there is now new fluid.
7. Then just go and bleed the remaining calipers.

What do you think of that idea? I see a potential issue though. The blue fluid will only help determine all old fluid from master cylinder to furthest caliper is out. But then when bleeding the others, I wont know when the old fluid is out of those calipers.
