Yeh, and I suppose asking for 296mm discs and pads instead of 280mm would provide a bit of a laff(even tho it wouldnt be under guarantee).
Like they werent going to replace the standard steering wheel with a slightly more luxurious one, even if I paid the extra, even tho they did replace the wheel
What about the brake size q tho:
Lemme put it another way
Is there a chance 296mm discs and pads use the same calipers as 280mm.
RS obviously is different, front is 340mm and there sure isnt ,what would it be.. 30mm or 3 cm of free space on my calipers.
The little bit of checking Ive done on generic parts suppliers, europarts etc, list both 280mm and 296mm front discs for the 2.0l meg 3 versions diesel and petrol .Lower spec 1.4 and 1.5 etc list just the 280mm discs.
Why bother taking the risk in buying for 3/4 of a cm in radius?.
I dunno ,get a lil more contact area for the same buck? if the discs will need replacing.
..itll add even more unsprung weight, yes that too,but Id still like to know
Even my local mechanic guy would Im sure just get the standard 280mm parts.
Im just wondering if its worth proceding to check around, look up pics, part nos n so on.or is it a case of "nah your wasting your time".
