Laguna Mk11 Brake pipes/hose

I have spent over an hour searching the web and this forum and can't find an answer so hopefully you can help.

My son has a Laguna Mk2. I replaced the pads and fitted new caliper seal and boot. When reassembling and starting to bleed there was brake fluid pouring out of the caliper where the pipe enters.

So 2 questions please.
1. Should there be a washer between nut and caliper body, I assume not but wonder if one dropped off.
2. Is it possible to replace only the last metal pipe, It looks as though the flexible hose and metal pipe either side are joined with no way to dismantle. Pipe is fine but in my effort to tighten nut sufficiently it has not rounded and if there is no washer then it is not sealing properly. Hoping I don't have to replace complete pipe and can just replace the last piece of pipe 6 about inches.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Laguna Mk11 Brake pipes/hose

Thanks for replies.

It did not leak before, I have possibly cross threaded and caused the problem or these was a washer and it has fallen off.

The issue is the offside rear disk brake. The parts are fitted in the right place. It is just the pipe is not making a good seal with the caliper and in the process of me trying to tighten the nut has become rounded very badly and then chewed up further by use of mole grips.

Essentially there is metal pipe from just in front of the near side wheel which runs across the car towards the offside wheel. this metal pipe then is attached to a a short rubber hose as it passes over the wheel and goes back to metal as it enters the caliper.

The metal pipe and rubber hose do not look like they come apart, crimped rather than threaded connections. If the metal did separate from the pipe then the job would be relative easy as I would just have to replace 6" of metal pipe.

The only damage is a leaking nut. I don't want to replace the whole pipe because of one nut.

Any suggestions on how to address the issue of one leaking nut.

Re: Laguna Mk11 Brake pipes/hose

Sorry I can't help much, except to say that our Scenic has pipes which are part metal/part rubber (the metal end fits into the caliper with a male nut, if I remember right) and I had a quick look and found this hash=item48667547b6 would this be like yours?

Just had a look through ebay and can't see anything like how I remember mine, will have a look later

Oh and welcome to the forum, by the way
