Brake pedal too high

I appreciate that my 2012 Scenic can be driven in Cruise control from as low as 30km/hr and do use it regularly when on the Brussels ring road. However I do feel it necessary to have my foot positioned above the brake pedal ready for emergency action.

The pedal is so high that the angle of my ankle rapidly becomes too uncomfortable. I have already added an extra wooden floor under my heel but would appreciate any suggestions concerning adjustment of the brake pedal

Re: Brake pedal too high

If you rest your foot next to the pedal I can't see how it's any different to when you've got your foot on the accelerator.
Your reflexes should be sufficient to react quick enough to lift your foot and hit the brake pedal.

However I also can't see a way apart from what JBW has already said above... Something attached on the pedal itself to change the angle. But personally I can see this being potentially more likely to cause an emergency situation rather than assist you in one.
