Megan II Handbrake question

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm quite new to all this!

The handbrake on my Megane will only lift up about half way. Even lifting it that far takes a bit of effort, it seems to have a fair bit of resistance.

I have a couple of spare levers (just finished with the dreaded button problem), not currently attached to a car. They lift all the way up with no problem. I got the car about 5 years ago and the handbrake always lifted up to the halfway point and no further, so I assumed this was normal. Other than this, the handbrake seems to be working fine.

Attached picture shows the handbrake pulled up as far as possible. Is this a problem? Something I can fix easily?

Re: Megan II Handbrake question

What John said.
Unless it is not operating the brakes properly (and MOT would have found that) it is probably no more then the limit of travel set by the adjustment.
