Brakes shudder.

Driving home today i approached a roundabout and my brakes began to shudder, they didnt fail in any way but there was a lot of clunking noise coming form them and the pedal was shuddering quite a bit. It sounded like something was knocking against something else.

Anyone have any ideas what this could be?

HI Fracamac - if the judder occured suddenly - I suspect something has come adrift - I suggest you get them looked at ASAP. Could be a number of things and in all honesty the only way to find out is to have a look - that is until I get my crystal ball up and running

The rear brake shoes are well known for becoming unbonded. But a full brake inspection is a must.
