Re: Upgrade Clio 3 Breaks?

I have always used the APEC brand without any problems and have found them reasonably priced and effective.

Brakes convert energy into heat and it is the rate of disapation of this heat that ultimately decides braking efficiency. Primarily it is the design of the braking system that is the over-riding factor so by changing only one aspect you are unlikely to make any massive gains. Also the tyre contact with the road will also affect efficiency.

Ultimately good regular maintenance and inspection is the best thing you can do and don't wait until something wears out or fails.

Re: Upgrade Clio 3 Breaks?

I went to change my pads recently and found the discs also needed replacement.. so I ordered Blueprint discs..why did I order these when there are others out there cheaper..good quality and a perfect fit and I also like the little chamfer they put on the outside edge so when the disc wares you don't get the lip associated with so many of the others..this lip can cause squealing..I fitted the discs and pads last weekend gave the car a goodish run to start the bed in process they are now very very good indeed but still have the rear adjusters to check out..when weather and health permits..

Discs cost me 33 and pads 18..good deal or what..labour was zero rated..
