Renault 5 85 1l master cylinder a big job?

The brake fluid hasn't been changed in at least 9 years on the above super 5 we have in France that is only used over the summer. After being able to feel the bottom of the pedal travel I look it to a main dealer asking for the fluid to be changed.

They are saying the master cylinder needs changing/ such a big job that it's worth more than the car. The car has family sentimental value so we want to keep it on the road for short village runs when a second car is needed- is this such a big job for such a well supported car still?

Re: Renault 5 85 1l master cylinder a big job?

It shouldn't be a big job to do if the unit is readily accessible and not blocked in by other engine components.

Don't take without giving in return
