Re: Error message on a fully working electronic parking brake
Greetings, de G6HRN.
I agree with you regarding the CanBus, Did the OBD reader throw up any other faults? Do a forum search, there are posts regarding resets. Some have worked for others.
I would be inclined to open the box, give it an inspect, clean & dry. Especially the multipin connector. there may be more than one communication line. BTW, NO mention of the EPB in Haynes. Also, these are coded to the car, so a scrappy one would essentially be useless.
I cured mine using a VAG KKL adaptor & DDT2000 software, which Renault used to use when the car was made. Be aware that there is CanClip & "Chinese" CanClip. Please also, remember Forum rules regarding discussion of acquired software & other's intellectual property.
Did this fault pop up during your ownership & was any work being done when it occurred?
You are only young once, but you can be immature forever
Give a n00b the answer he will be learn for a day; show him the search button, he will learn for life.
