How to remove clio rear hubs

My rear brake shoes on the 1.2 Clio authentique need replacing but I'm struggling to remove the rear hub, I have released the hand break and removed the nut holding the Hub however it still won't slide off, it's the first time I have removed the hub so any advice where I'm going wrong would be much appreciated

Re: How to remove clio rear hubs

You might need to slacken the hand brake even further from the adjuster..also there will probably be a lip inside the drum which the shoes wont pull past..use a hammer on the out side of the drum while you rotate should be able to find vids on you tube to help you along with this..

You ca also buy a simple hub puller for between 5 and 10 - see attached photo for example.

Re: How to remove clio rear hubs

I had to use a puller exactly as Madnoel has shown. And wind back the adjuster nuts as Phil48 said. The Haynes manual talks about a handbrake lever inside the hub which can be released with a screwdriver. But for me anyway it was enough to follow the advice in the previous two posts.

Re: How to remove clio rear hubs

Another way is to put your wheel on if iits alloy use your spare lift the car high enough and spin the wheel at the same time hit the wheel with a raw hide hammer if you do not have one use apiece of wood and a hammer as its spinning it will come away make sure you have undone the centre hub nut before doing this
