Re: Renault megane 2 handbrake lost tension

when something goes wrong on a car there usually is a simple explanation you say you know zero about cars but when you tink about you will be surprised how quick you pick things up worthwhile having a go before you put it in the garage might save a few quid good luck

Re: Renault megane 2 handbrake lost tension

I had a similar problem with my own Megane II. Turned out it was the caliper. Check if the handbrake arm on the one caliper can be moved longer than on the other caliper. In my case the handbrake arm on the left caliper could be moved a further distance than on the right caliper. This caused the wires to be pulled unevenly.

One of the wires could have seized too, but get someone to operate the handbrake while you have a look underneath and you will soon see what is going on.
