On the scenic electronic parking brake, I've read plenty of reports of people fitting second hand ones in fine. I believe the only thing you need to check is that a Electronic parking brake from an auto car can only go on an auto car, likewise manual EPB on a manual car. The VIN programmed in it will be wrong but it appears that they don't really care too much about it and still work anyway.
Brand new units need programming by Renault (or using Renault tools), as they don't know if they're supposed to be on a auto or manual and haven't had any VIN put in.
Of course the Laguna maybe different, but then with modern part commonality, it may be pretty much an identical box with slightly different software on.
