Hello, they are a Philips head, and using a impact driver is a good idea if they are tight ! You might be lucky and they will just unscrew, not sure where to get replacements (apart from a dealer) as they as countersunk.
Not good practice but, you could get away without fitting new ones as the wheel itself holds the disc to the hub, regards Damian.

Unhappy All brakes changed but small problem - help ....

Right, I managed to get the front discs off no problem. The screws undid with a T40 bit in a ratchet. It didn't thread the screws or damage the screw heads in any way. No need to use the impact screwdriver. The discs also slid off the hubs no problem as well. Fitted the new discs and pads without any trouble.

The problem I have hit is with the rear shoes. I've got the rear drums off with no problem and fitted the new shoes and stop pegs which was all very straight forward. I followed the Haynes manual for the exact fitting procedure and continually altered the adjuster strut (Bendix mechanism by the way) and continually checked that the shoes were not touching the drum walls when the drum was temporarily refitted and spun. The drums didn't touch the shoes when spun. So I thought that was ok and followed the next step which was to temporarily fit the drums on both rear wheels and depress the brake peddle whilst making sure that you hear the adjuster strut clicking. Only due to tiredness I forgot to fit one of the drums so the shoes expanded and I could hear a constant clicking noise each time I depressed the brake pedal . Realising what I had done I tried to fit the drum but the shoes wouldn't allow the drum to slide over them. I then readjusted the adjuster strut until the drum fitted over the shoes. I then repeated the peddle depressing and I heard the clicking no problem. However when I applied the handbrake it didn't bite and I could freely roll the car. I then tightened the handbrake under the exhaust heatshield and the handbrake was now nice and tight. However I had to tighten the handbrake cable quite a lot and I don't think that is right. Now when I tried to drive the car the brakes are rubbish and doesn't stop the car correctly. Have I done something wrong and did I cause this problem when I depressed the brake peddle without the drum attached or is it that the brakes just need bleeding. Also there is a grinding/rough noise from one of the rear drums under braking which was happening before I changed the rear shoes and that is the reason I was changing them. Is it simply that the shoes aren't gripping/contacting the drum correctly and just need some very fine tuning ? I'm really not sure how I should proceed ?
