I know that on the previous model Transit, Ford didn't opt for rear discs like the Sprinter, Master etc due to costs to the operator and wear characteristics. Current Transit runs rear discs like every other large van. Personally I would have thought rear discs are a bit overkill on most cars just the high performance jobs that need them. Nowt wrong with good old drums, except I've never quite been able to fettle drum brakes properly!
