I did give them a wipe down with white spirits before hand, ive just had the wheel off and the disc and wheel turns freely without catching, so iam hoping as it brakes well its like you said and maybe some oil or dirt is on the pads, would it be okay to let this burn off naturally and if so should this smoke cease after approximately 100 miles

If the components are all clean I would suspect a sticky caliper piston which releases very slowly and by the time you get the car jacked up and the wheel off it has released itself. I had a similar problem a few weeks back with a Ford Escort I suggest you get it sorted or you could end up having to replace the disc if it gets overheated

It will burn off but as Lagdti has said it will affect your braking efficencey, your pads may glaze thus becoming hard therefore they will not bite properly when you apply the brakes.

You could try taking the pads out and give them a light roughing up ( sanding) with some emery paper, dont forget to degrease your discs, replace your pads and take it for a drive.

Take it easy on the brakes for the first 50 miles or so
