Re: Renault clio 2003 brake drum issue???

This won't help diagnosis but i drove about 5 miles after
the driver siderear wheel bearing failed VERY noisily.
Only 12 out of 18(?)rollers left in the inboard bearing. The escapees had graunched round the brake drum.
Local scrapyard wanted£20 for a drum and bearing.I asked if i could have the abs sensor too as the wobbling wheel had worn the end of it.when i got there the drum was off together with the backplate & stub axle.I ended up paying £25 for the lot.
As it happened the drum /bearing just slid nicely onto the stub axle, the original abs sensor was ok so i could have saved the£5.Seems i was dead lucky for 2 alien bits fitting so nicely!
Local car bits shop price for a bearing kit was £18 plus loadf of agro knocking the old bearing out etc.
Fdit: And just to sing the praises of a good scrapyard i ended up with a glass-less electric mirror for£5---the one knocked off had its glass intact when i picked it up off the road.
