Just a quick update on the vibration issue. I put the spare on the rear nearside and the vibration went so i replaced the tyre on the alloy i had taken off that wheel, put it back on the car and all is well. What did surprise me though was the date of manufacture of the old DUNLOP tyre - September 2011 making the tyre 4 years old when it was fitted in July 2015! (This was done by the supplying dealer for it's MoT). So although you may be paying for 'new' tyres they may not be new.

Re: electric handbrake issue

Read something else recently on tyres failing and turned out to be "old stock"
IMO within reason and if stored properly, not an issue but can never be sure on the stored properly part.... just the longer in store the more chance of ageing issues.

Found this if of interest
Continental Passenger -How old are your tyres?

Thanks for report, sounds like the bang distorted the tyre, lucky it didn't take rim.

Re: electric handbrake issue

This was an issue with some sellers on ebay they will buy in bulk out of date tyres sold as scrap and selling them on ...I never thought of a sell by on tyres but if you think on it rubber is a perishable item
