Laguna 2 handbrake

I am having problems with the electronic handbrake on my 55 Laguna.
Couple of weeks ago handbrake fault appeared on dash. The brake seemed to be working ok although a little whiny. Now , however there is nothing (apart from the warning). No brake , no motor noise ...nothing.
I was hoping to be able to get it fixed without the expense of a complete new handbrake kit.
Is it possible to get just the motor as I'm assuming that is the problem or getting one from a breaker.
This has been a fantastic car for the past 2 years and I really don't want to get rid but obviously if its not viable to fix I will have to.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated

Let me know if you get any luck with your problem. I have the same problem with my 2005 Laguna after changing my brake pads etc although there was a issue with the handbrake sticking on a few dats before this. I have tried my local car dismantlers with no luck. My brother and husband are both mechanics and have tried a dignostic computer with no luck. So may be a dear option in buying a new handbrake motor.
