Grand scenic brake caliper

Hi, drivers side rear brake caliper is sticking on my 2005 grand scenic 1.9dCi. Mine is the electronic handbrake version. Does anybody know if the calipers are the same as those on a manual handbrake model? Thanks.

Re: Grand scenic brake caliper

The calipers are the same. The cables at the caliper are identical, it is only the cable and it's operating mechanism that differ.

Re: Grand scenic brake caliper

They are different.
Parking Brake operating lever is at different angle.
Piston, body, mountings are all the same.

Info I have from Technical guy at TRW (Lucas) is that automatic calipers can be used on manual systems but not vice versa.

I believe this is due to electric brake malfunctions when manual calipers have been fitted but whether just a few or every time I don't know.

Personally I'd fit recons not second hand if this is the reason for the question.

Edit, just found the sheet the guy sent me, different arms, stop levers and cable fixing positions
