Re: Scenic II manual handbrake release
I need to replace the rear discs and pads on my 2008 Renault Scenic.
However, whenever I use the manual handbrake release - the small button with the red light in the middle of the lever - the car starts beeping and I get a 'parking brake fault' message on the dashboard. The handbrake works fine in 'auto' mode when setting off and engages without problems as well.
Don't worry about it. The beeping is normal. It shuts up eventually. I trust you've put the car in service mode.
Card in, Neutral, don't touch the pedals, Start for 10 secs, till steering releases. Handbrake off. Press Start twice.
3rd Scenic, NEVER had a caliper tool. Just a G clamp & Footprints.
DO NOT PUT THE CARD IN while the Calipers are off. Don't want the EPB operating whilst it's apart.
