Judder on travel and braking...

I went to the dentist the other day then on the way back the steering wheel began wobbling, like a judder, I thought this was due to the country road I was on but after getting back to 'normal' tarmac the wheel was still the same, it was odd that it suddenly happening and I was not braking excessively to have warped the brake disks? When I got home I took either front wheel off and checked for any play with bearings but they are solid it seems. Could maybe the tracking be out, perhaps a wheel weight had come off? It is a bit odd how it suddenly happened, under braking on say the motorway the steering wheel becomes quite wobbly :/

Re: Judder on travel and braking...

Have you checked your tyres for any bulges on the tread or sidewalls?

Cheers.

Re: Judder on travel and braking...

I have just taken both front wheel off and there is nothing out of the ordinary with the tyres, also I have a poke about checking and yanking the wishbones and track rod ends and other bits, all seem nice and tight.

Re: Judder on travel and braking...

Just to clarify,

Is the wobble there all of the time when driving or only when braking?

Cheers.
