I would call that tick box a get out of jail card

Getting more and more irate as I read this,

Is there any mention to you EVEN verbally about the state of your braking system...

Re: Mot failiure

Can you post a picture of the checklist? There should be a record of time spent working on the car showing what they did and how long it took. If they charged you for checking/testing the brakes then they would have found the problems and fixed them. You'd have had to pay, thatís fair but you telling them what they missed and paying them to fix it is no no no!

Re: Mot failiure

What size of garage was this ? was it a small independent or a chain(no naming ) ?
This is relevant when you confront them ...has a lazy barsteward just ticked the boxes ? did they REALLY change the oil?
afraid my element of trust with them would have went exit stage door left

Re: Mot failiure

I can post a picture tomorrow.

There was not any mention of braking system problems. I would have had it done straight away if i had known.

The garage is independent but it's not small and is a French car specialist garage...

As for the oil and brake fluid we had it done with the other person who done the cambelt at the time as he was more economical.
