they are the original pads only done 35k still plenty of meat on them.

Is it the pads rattling,,, how much " meat " left on them..
Might not have shims for the back,,,

hi just checked my service record and they fitted new pads with service in march (what a numpty).
checking with them as they might have fitted cheap pads.
does anyone know the part number for pads from euro car parts.

I'd be suspicious that those little clips that Ourkid linked to aren't there.

Applying grease to brake pads is not a safe solution to rattling pads. There must be something seriously amiss which should be investigated further.
Primarily brake pads are held in place by their edges so if they are rattling with the the brake carrier housing then either something is missing - the incorrect pads have been fitted or they have been fitted incorrectly.
