Replacing brakes and Warranty

I have a 64 plate clio and the brakes are coming up to needing to be replaced.
Renault have told me that both pads and discs on the front need to be replaced and have quoted me £259 for the job, which seems steep to me and have found it cheaper elsewhere.
Just wondering if I did go elsewhere, would it void the warranty?
Currently in stejent's garage:

Possibly
You need to check with Renault Customer Services and find out exact position.
Normally any VAT registered ie proper garage would be okay but check.

Re: Replacing brakes and Warranty

Wow, bit of strict rules in the UK.

Is it so that the warranty on the whole car disappears if you use independant shops?

Re: Replacing brakes and Warranty

As far as I am aware the same rules apply throughout the EU ...Independent VAT registered garages can carry out work but unless original manufacturer parts are used the warranty can be invalidated ...
