megane, rear right wheel, drum brake stuck

hello,

my brother has a stuck rear right wheel. i have shook the wheel attached to the car, the bearings seem fine. i removed the wheel and drive shaft nut, took off the handbrake and the drum wont move. the car was driving the other day and then it stopped as though the handbrake was slammed on. then the car wouldnt move at all, as though the brake on the rear right was applied. i had to jump on the car a few times which seemed to shake it free. he drove the car home which seemed fine. i can not remove the drum and the wheel wont turn freely. even when i put the wheel back on and tightened the wheel nuts, the handbrake was off and the wheel still wouldnt turn with a two foot braker bar on the wheel nuts.
how can i get the hub off?
i have a puller but that is too small, my dad mentioned heating the drum with a blow torch which i am not doing!
i thought that maybe draining the fluid from the brakes or maybe getting under the car to loosen the handbrake cables but i think that the brake shoes have stuck to the inside of the drum.
any advice or help would be great!
thanks
simon

A Lining could have come off a shoe have you
tried putting it back on it's wheels and giving it
a little jerk in forward and reverse nothing to
violent mind.

Hi

don't go near it with a blow torch.

loosed the center nut but don't remove completely(bit like a steering wheel) you don't want it flying off into your face. hit the drum all around with lump hammer and try wiggle it off, failing that hire / buy a big puller.
As previously stated Clio (& PSA) vehicles have a tendency for the brake linings coming off their shoes and getting jammed between cylinders and drums .

Big hammer and leavers with patience required

i have ordered a puller off ebay, hopefully that will work.
we took it to a car mechanic who said the brakes were binding. he removed the hub and said the shoe linings fell off and the wheel cylinder was leaking. he was going to charge £270 for two cylinders and brake kits including labour.
i have bought a puller for £10, brakes and cylinders will cost £33. doing it for my brother as a birthday present. hopefully it will work out.
thanks for your help
