Hi, all. My Espace 2007 2.2Dci have been giving parking brake fault and switches the car off even while driving. I have to stop and the switch the van off and then start again. The ESP light comes on and off after/during this. I can drive for an hour and it will be fine then it can happen 4-5 times consecutively when driving. However, when I stop to park the car, everything works fine. Thank you in advance.

You have to force after ignition on, put card in reader, put car in first gear,..No feet on pedals, hold the start button, all your dash should light up, this will stay active for a hour.
Or until you remove the card .
Dont forget to remove the card,, it will flatten the battery. especially if left in overnight, and your in the pub, and dont know till next morning, and you need the car, ...

Now you are asking, with a lot of luck, your oval plate will take me to the correct info...
Will see what I can find out, but should be able to get the info of brakes up..
But try this,, thats if your car will switch off in gear,,.
Start the car, put it in drive, stop the car, and leave in drive, might ask you to remove the card, take the card out, ..You will need to press the unlocking button on the card,, Yep I know car is already open, but still do it... re insert
press and hold the start button.. could take 10 seconds or more..... for the dash to light up. and allow after ignition.....
Just trying to think who has a renault auto, with key card on here.
Sure they would know....

Not saying that will work, , but that is the way to force after ignition on, with a keycard, so would assume putting your car in gear would be the same as someone with a manual car putting it in gear..

Underbonnet fuse box,,, 6 small fuses in this, check if any are lose, or dirty...
This is not so much do with your braking system (ESP), more to do with cutting out,,,,

All these are part of the system..
Re reading your thread, think the ESP fault is a by product of another fault,,.As DD intimated at,,,, car stalls, no vss signal, esp is coming on..
When it stops, does it just cut out, as in stops dead, or slowly stops, you know when its going to happen, as such....
(You have an electric fuel pump, and a fuel pump relay fitted.)
So might seem a daft question, but,,, does it start, straight away, or you have to let it cool down.
If you have to let it cool down,, for how long....
If it starts straight away, when you switch the ignition back on, can you hear a louder buzz, from the back, than normal heard..
You might not notice before, but next time it happens, can you check...

Hi. The car still rolls on after the fault comes on when driving; I then stop the car, and start immediately and it starts then I drive away. I did notice when it happens that the red square around the D disappear and then loss of power, this is when the car will still roll on when it will say press start. I also know when it will happen,I hear a sound like something want to close then open again or vice versa, I'm referring to the EPB. But no other sounds my dear friend.

under bonnet fuse box, when you find those six small fuses, surrounded by the larger fuses, as you look at the fuse box, two smaller fuses just above some relays.
The first relay down, below these fuse, is the fuel pump relay... can you swap this with the relay, immediately to the right (slightly higher up) of it. fan relay..
