I've the same problem in my 1994 1.4. It sounds like rear causing the grinding noise (metal on metal) but I've not had a good look round yet.
Passed the MOT last week so it's not weakness.

I have this problem. Is there anyway to reduce this problem? Will it do any serious damage?

Re: Clio Brakes Grinding Noise

What I did was to drive the first few yards in a morning
with the brakes very lightly applied but the only real
cure was to change the discs and pads.

Who would design a vehicle that falls over when you stop?

If you find a fix for your problem please let us know it will help others.
