Laguna rear brakes

I have recently noticed a smell of hot rubber from the rear brakes of my Laguna II 3.0l when I return from a run. The car has done 80,000k. Anyone have any ideas why?

Hello Andrew.

Very strange that you smell rubber from the brakes as there are no rubber compounds near them....apart from the tyres

Have you checked to see that the brakes are not slightly binding/sticking? Jack each side of the car up and with the handbrake off spin each wheel to see what sort of freedom the wheel has to spin!
