Do the brakes seem to work OK?

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....

They have told me that it is 'just the brakes and stuff (?) settling in' and have said not to worry... but it is making a noise on both sides. Brakes work fine, or seem to, and it seems a sensible explanation... so why were they desperate to get me in to get them checked???

They wanted to check it quick just incase they had made a mistake and your car was dangerous, they should get better as you use the brakes and they bed in, then they might start squealing again!

Squealing brakes are usually caused by the pads actualy vibrating in the calipers, a little spot of grease, (copaslip) on the back of the pads usualy cures it.
