MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor Location on Scenic 1.9 dci
This is the first time I haven't found the answer to my question on this forum, so I've been forced into registering to ask it after 2 years of lurking. Just goes to show the wealth of info on here...
Renault Scenic 1.9 dci on a 52 plate. Diognosed as having a problem with the Air Mass Meter this morning.
She loses power intermittently: sometimes just loses accelleration (usually up hill, but not always) but sometimes it's like hitting a brick wall, or at least a rev limiter. Dipping the clutch when it happens doesn't cause it to rev as you'd expect.
Doesn't matter if it's hot or just started, although more often than not, it's within the first 15 miles.
"Electronic warning" light comes on on the dash occassionally but not always.
As I said, Local Garage diagnosed it as requiring a new Air Mass Meter and quoted £253 +vat to replace. Seems abit steep to me so I'll be doing it myself, whether I know what I'm doing or not. Obviously, I want to know as much about what I'm doing as poss before I start.
Problem is, I can't find the damn thing, so I can't find a part number/ oem number to order a new one. I assume it'll be connected to the air box somewhere.
Any help would be massively appreciated: locations, directions, instructions, photos, videos, come round n do it for me. Whatever you can do, I'd be very grateful for.
Currently in dsom73's garage:
