I tend to agree, most if not all Renault dealers are fitting fully synthetic
at the services now, before it was the cheaper semi synthetic stuff. 18k is a long time inbetween
changes for any car, especially a diesel, no matter what make.
Also depending on driving conditions Renault recommend more frequent changes.
Having driven both the 1.9dci and 2.2dci I didn't think the extra cost of the 2.2 in terms of insurance/mpg etc was worth the extra. It isn't that much better than the 1.9. It would be a different story if I need to tow a caravan tho, the 2.2 would obviously be a better choice then.
