Re: MPG,whats yours?

On a long run A roads & Mway at 70-80 mph tend to get about 45mph. Normal to and from work, roundabouts and lights around 30mpg.

Re: MPG,whats yours?

Amazingly my mpg is getting better, much better.

2001 Megane 1.9 dci
65pg on a motorway run going at 70mph

Sometimes if there are no hills I can get almost 70mpg. I have always kept records of mpg, use slightly larger tyres 185/65 15, and tried out several makes of tyres too.

At the moment I have Capitol eco 003 tyres filled with nitrogen on the front, a pair of michelin energy on the rear (which have outlasted 3 sets of fronts, but weren't very good on the front), fully synthetic oil, regularly serviced, esso fuel with millers dieselclean every now and again. Incidentally my glow plugs have died too, with little ill effect this summer as it's so warm.

Re: MPG,whats yours?

I drive mainly on country roads

On petrol with a/c on 29mpg
On petrol with a/c off 34mpg

On lpg with a/c on 25mpg
On lpg with a/c off 29mpg

Motorways I can get over 45 mpg, on a good run back from Wales a couple of weeks ago I got 58mpg! I think what was more shocking was the M4 and M25 was clear

Air con makes a noticeable difference, this is the worst car i've ever owned for this.

Re: MPG,whats yours?

Megane 1.5 dci auto. Lots of country lanes involved so much stop starting. Average 49 MPG. My office journey is 20 miles dual carriageway and 7 lanes, if I have done this regularly then my average goes up to 54+ MPG.

Resetting for motorway journey will give me more like 58-65 depending on my footwear but I have seen it hit 70 ish in less hilly parts of the UK (the Shire's luverly, but us 'obbits likes our 'ills)

Question Re: MPG,whats yours?

My Clio as always been good on fuel mostly due to were we live rural with not that much traffic, but one thing I notice is that if I don't start the engine till all the dash lights that go out after the start up test do so the car seems to do about 10 more MPG, than if I just start it immediately wile they are still running through their sequence, I wonder if starting it immediately is not giving the ecu time to check on all it's sensors and such and so it's using safe values, as anyone else noticed this? or is it my imagination.

If you find a fix for your problem please let us know it will help others.
