Is it just the head of the pin that's rusty, could you file the heads down to accept a 17mm socket.
Would think they are Main Agent only, ( safety reasons, tensile strength of the pin). You might only take these pins out every 5 years.
Mr Haynes would be covering himself, with the statement, about new hub nut.
Would it not be the same if fitting a clutch, and drive shaft nut is removed.
Have you heard of many replacing this, with a new one..
Not putting nothing in writing, but you work it out

I think, aesthetically, car design is so interesting - the dashboards, the steering wheels, and the beauty of the mechanics. I don't know how any of it works, I don't want to know,
