Hello and welcome to the forums. This is very very strange. The last time I saw a car with positive earth was probably a 1970s Mini. Manufacturers changed to negative earth because it is supposed to stop so much body corrosion. Not too sure how but thats the story. As far as I'm aware an alternator will not work wired up as a positive earth, if the battery was fitted incorectly it would normaly fry the diodes inside the alternator. Also the petrol sender unit, clock and a whole host of electrical components would work backwards or not at all. Are you absolutley sure the car is positive earth. Sorry can't be any more help, but someone may be able to soon. Regards Oilyrag
