Laguna 2 Rear doors lock fault

Just found this forum while looking for info,

I have a 01 Laguna 2 Estate 1.9 dCi with 103,000 miles on it. About two weeks ago I noticed the rear doors wouldn't open either from the inside or outside. The other doors and tailgate all operate correctly. I left it with a main dealer who informed me he thought it was the main fuse board at fault and that I would need two new locks as well. He didn't exactly fill me full of confidence with his troubleshooting expertise though.

I do have some fault finding experience (not on cars though) and it seems to me if one door was at fault then the lock would be a suspect but the chances of two locks failing at the same time are remote and it would point more towards a common wiring or power feed fault.

Has anyone else come across this fault or a similar one that might point me in the right direction or give me enough info to get a main dealer to look in the right area ?
