Yeh cars were much simpler 25 years ago and on the old VW's you needed muscles of iron in your right leg to get them to stop - their brakes were atrocious in my experience.
Yeh the good old beatle you could even repair it without stopping - well the one in the "Herbie" movies seemed to work that way.
Oh by the way I have a renault keyring on my keys does that mean the keyring was also made by Renault.
My mate has worked for both VW and Skodia garages and he says no doubt both cars share similar technology and design he thinks the quality just ain't there in the Skoda. Well suppose they have to cutback somewhere in order to keep the price down. Personally I wouldn't mind driving a Skoda - beats walkng any time
