Aftermarket Kenwood stopped working

Hi guys,

Was wondering if anyone knew a possible solution to my problem:

Driving home the other night with my Kenwood CD player playing my fave brand of music, quite loudly I must admit (around lvl 25 on the volume control) and it suddenly cut out and hasn't worked since.

I've just taken it out to investigate and the fuse is fine on the unit and all wires are snug. However, I have also noted that my clock backlight (the one above the vents) will only illuminate with side/headlights on and I'm adiment I was able to see it clearly without them on prior to this happening.

Any ideas anyone? I do have another HU I can try in there but I doubt it's that...the unit is less than a year old. I really do need to get a Haynes manual since I cannot see on the fuse cover which would direct me to the radio fuse.

Any help/advice greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
